The long goodbye at the orphanage
The morning flew by. Again, it was Dominican time. It was 3 days packed into 3 hours, but flew by. We received the 15 minute warning ( I must live on Dominican time as the last 15 minutes in our home also takes an hour!) and for the next 30+ minutes, tearful exchanges scattered the yard. Goodbye to Carolina and her family, the girls of the neighborhood. Many tears from us and them. Parents, you will weep as you see your child in a tearful embrace with her Domincan and Haitian friends, and comforting each other as well. Alba was crying, Sarah’s special friend (Sulaki) whose hope is going to the English school. And how precious it was to see those tears of love for each other. The photos need no explanation!!!!!
