Maggie’s Gift
You may have noticed that one day everyone had on white shirts. Maggie M designed T-shirts for the kids, and they disappeared like Coca-Cola at an orphanage pizza party. Everyone wanted one. Soto wore his, Antonio who lives with 10 others in the pink house, big kids, little kids. It was so sweet when someone showed Harry on the bus that day the shirt, he said how he gets to learn something special about everyone, and the gifts Jesus has given them. That Maggie is someone special to minister to others in that unique God-given way. He is right.
She also has wise head on young shoulders. She plays with the “little” girls in the ocean, wearing goggles and diving down to the ocean floor to look for treasures, then she changes the diaper of Carolina’s baby. She said she wants to call Albert Pujols to speak with him about how much it would mean for him to be involved with the orphanage, to encourage fellow Dominicans to participate and serve. The same breath she giggles about his name! What a dear tender sweet heart. She has childlike innocence and faith, with wisdom and maturity.
She is such a hard, diligent worker. Before we left the states, at one of the team meetings, we were bagging items. The work was coming to a close, and we started horsing around. In the back of the room, Maggie was still working and organizing bags that we had not seen.
I can also not wait to see what Jesus will do with Maggie as she grows into a godly woman!
